22. July 2006 - Scottish Folk Evening

Booked were: Janet M. Christel and Thomas Schalla from The Clanranald Pipeband

12. January 2006 - Multi Kulti Evening - Lucent Technologies

29. Juli 2005 - Scottish Folk Evening - Gaststätte Sigi Strandenstr.

The Beergarden Kleingarten-Anlage "Ferdinand-Ott" was chosen for our Folk Evening this year. A very nice but remote (good for bagpipes) location, where a reputable kitchen, lots of space for dancing and a childrens play area. Entertained by the exceptional and a regular booking - The Midden and a new and equally talented group Breabach

Also Horst Blank from The City of Nuernberg Pipes and Drums would treat us to some tunes as a solo piper There was a great turn out and the evening began with great promise. Unfortunately the melodies were not enough to ward of a very intense thunder and rain storm which wiped out the evening.. Though most people fled home for shelter - i ended up in the roofed stage (bike shed) and was privaleged to hear the two bands play a few tunes.

Here are two videos (click on play button to listen) which captures the spirit not dampened by the storm:

23. July 2003 - Scottish Folk Evening - Willstädter Gymnasium

The City of Nuernberg Pipes and Drums opened the evening with three pipers and soon had everyone tapping their toes.

The Midden - three talented sisters from Glasgow, filled the courtyard of the Willstädter Gymnasium with old Scottish favourites and newer songs.

The Scottish Country Dancing Group from Erlangen demonstrated their skills to us, then everyone had an opportunity to join in the dancing. In short, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and we hope to repeat the experience next year - hopefully with similar beautiful weather!
